How to Successfully Dress For a Job Interview

Lets be honest, looks are important and "first impressions are lasting impressions". That is why it is extremely important to choose the appropriate attire when going on a job interview.

No matter what position you are applying for, you can never go wrong if you adhere to the guidelines that follow. Even if you feel they are too dressy for the position you are applying for always remember that "it is better to be over dressed than under dressed".

For ladies the standard the recommended attire would be:
* Conservative dark suit in a solid color.
* Matching blouse (should not be so low cut that your cleavage is exposed).
* Black or dark colored pumps with no more than a three inch heel.
* Keep jewelry minimal and simple.
* Hair should be neat and styled professionally.
* Make-up should be light and natural.
* Fragrance should be very soft and light. Nothing harsh and overbearing.
* Make sure you wear panty hose if you are wearing a skirt suit. Neutral and tan colors are recommended.
* Nails should be clean and well manicured.
The recommended interview attire for men is as follows:
* Conservative dark, solid color suit.
* Long sleeve white shirt.
* Coordinating conservative tie. Preferably a solid color.
* Professional, clean and polished shoes with dark socks.
* Neat and professionally styled hair. Facial hair should also be trimmed, well groomed and neat.
* Nails should be clean and well manicured.
* Wear minimal cologne or aftershave.
Always remember from the moment you walk into the interview to the moment you leave you are being judged. You can never fail if you dress conservatively. This will keep the attention focused on your skills and what you can do for the company rather than on your clothing.
Much success in your job search.
